Two US model models have died in a shooting in Finland, it has been revealed.
Two models were gunned down in their home by an assailant who had pledged allegiance to Islamic State group (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) and had threatened to kill them.
The victims were identified as 33-year-old Yevgeny Vasilyev and 24-year -old Natalia Biletsky.
It was not immediately clear what the motive for the attack was.
According to the Associated Press news agency, a neighbour called police at around 8:30am on Tuesday to report a male and female who were arguing outside the home in the town of Sefra.
When officers arrived they found a man and a woman with gunshot wounds.
A neighbour told police that he heard gunshots and saw two men and a boy standing on the street.
Police found the man and the woman dead from gunshot wounds and the boy dead from an apparent suicide.
Both were Russian-born, with one having a Russian nationality.
“We are looking for a motive,” a Finnish police spokesperson told the AFP news agency.
“We’re looking for information on the possible motives of the perpetrators, and what could be the motive of the suspects.”
“The incident is not linked to any terrorism, but there is speculation that it may have been linked to an internal threat,” she added.
Russia has stepped up its war on IS since it began a campaign to root out IS from the territory in the Middle East in 2014.
On Tuesday, Russia said it had foiled a plot to kill Russian citizens.
