N.J. men have the top-selling sweater for women’s clothing in the country, according to a new study.
The study, by the fashion brand Brooks Brothers, said that men’s and women’s sweatshirts from both brands topped the list.
N.Y.-based Brooks Brothers said its “Winter Winter Sweater” men’s collection had more than 1.5 million orders, and its women’s line, which is made from cotton, is selling out quickly.
The men’s sweater tops have a warm-toned feel and have a low neckline.
They are also available in a wide range of colors and styles.
The women’s collection, which has sold out in less than 24 hours, features a light, feminine fit, and features a more relaxed silhouette.
Women’s apparel, Brooks Brothers says, “is the ultimate women’s accessory, with features such as breathable fabrics and a slim neckline.”
N.J.-based N.R.M.S. apparel has also seen sales explode, as has its women-oriented line, said Michael Schiller, an apparel analyst at New York-based Wards Investment Management.
“It’s really cool that N.NY. has the best-performing women’s collections, but they’re definitely not top sellers in New Jersey,” Schiller said.
The Brooks Brothers women’s sweater top sells for $35 at Macy’s, $45 at Walmart, and $70 at J.C. Penney, according the company’s website.
The New York company’s women’s lines have been selling out of its winter collection for months.
In January, the company said it was running out of sweatshorts, with the majority of the inventory going to men’s, which it says was a “sad” situation.
“Winter Winter” men and women is the brand’s second-biggest revenue generator after its women, and it has been increasing its sales, said Schiller.
“Women’s clothing is a luxury item, and Brooks Brothers is well positioned to capitalize on that trend,” he said.
